Mike Bass
Board President, Lafayette Farmers and Artisans Market
Mike Bass has served as the board president of the market since 2022. Under his leadership, the market has flourished as a vibrant hub for connecting farmers, artisans, and residents. He is a dedicated advocate for local business and community engagement and is deeply committed to supporting local farms, businesses, and small-scale growers. Through his work, Mike helps ensure the market offers fresh, locally-sourced produce to residents of all income levels, and continues to thrive as a shining example of Acadiana culture and hospitality.
During his tenure, Mike has spearheaded biking and shuttle initiatives to provide access to families without cars and to decrease the parking imprint on Moncus Park. He’s responsible for the market’s SNAP/EBT program that includes a 1-to-1 state matching program provided by Greaux the Good. In addition to his duties as board president, Mike maintains the market website and leads all marketing and promotional efforts.
Mike has been a long-time volunteer and community advocate in Lafayette, serving on the Festival International board, United Way allocation committee, and LTLA Short-term rental alliance. He is currently on the state Greaux the Good advisory committee. As a web developer and small business owner, Mike has supported local non-profits such as Hearts for Hope, Faith House, and St. Joseph’s diner.
